REFUND, RETURNS & CANCELLATION POLICY


This policy outlines the terms for refunds, returns, exchanges, and cancellations. It applies to all orders placed via www.dirty4x4.com.au (or relevant Dirty 4x4 sales channels).
1. Eligibility for Returns or Exchanges
Dirty 4x4 accepts returns in accordance with Australian Consumer Law.


To be eligible for a return or exchange, items must:

  • Be unused and in original condition

  • Include all original packaging, accessories, and components

  • Be returned within 30 days of delivery
     

We offer exchanges for items that:

  • Are unused and in original condition

  • Include all original packaging and components

  • Are returned within 30 days of delivery
     

Shipping costs for both the return and replacement item are the customer’s responsibility unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied by Dirty 4x4.
For warranty or fault-related claims, used items may still be eligible as outlined in Section 3.
All returns must be authorised prior to being sent back. Please contact Dirty 4x4 before returning any items.

2. Cancellations
Custom-Built & Special-Order Products
Products that are custom-built or made to order are not eligible for return or refund, unless:

  • The product is faulty; or

  • An incorrect item was supplied by Dirty 4x4

Cancellation Fees (All Products)

  • A 5% cancellation fee applies to all orders cancelled within 24 hours of purchase

Cancellation Fees (Custom Orders)

  • A 5% cancellation fee applies if cancelled within 24 hours of purchase

  • After 24 hours, cancellations are subject to a 20% cancellation fee

This applies to, but is not limited to:

  • Custom-built products

  • Modified wiring or electrical kits

  • Special-order components or bundles
     

3. Faulty, Damaged, or Incorrect Items
Faulty Items
If your item is faulty, you must:

  • Notify Dirty 4x4 within 30 days of delivery

  • Provide your order number and clear photos of the issue

If your claim is accepted, Dirty 4x4 will repair or replace the item.
If notification is not received within 30 days, you may still be eligible for repair or parts under warranty, but not a replacement.
Items Damaged in Transit
If your item arrives damaged:

  • Notify Dirty 4x4 within 7 days of delivery

  • Retain all packaging, boxes, and shipping labels

Failure to do so may result in the item not being eligible for a free exchange.
Incorrect Items
If you received the incorrect item:

  • Notify Dirty 4x4 within 30 days of delivery

Failure to notify us within this timeframe may result in the exchange not being provided free of charge.
In all cases, Dirty 4x4 may require the item to be returned for inspection before issuing a resolution.

4. Refunds
Refunds will not be issued for items that have been damaged due to:

  • Misuse

  • Incorrect installation

  • Modification or alteration

If your return is approved, you will be offered one of the following options:

  • Refund to original payment method (15% restocking fee applies), or

  • Store credit issued as a digital gift card (no restocking fee)

Refunds are typically processed within 2–7 business days of approval.
Shipping costs are non-refundable, unless the item is faulty or incorrectly supplied. You will receive confirmation once your refund or store credit has been issued.

5. Return Process

  1. Contact Dirty 4x4 to request a return authorisation

  2. Do not send items back without approval

  3. Package items securely and use a tracked shipping method

  4. Once received and inspected, we will confirm the outcome

Returns received without authorisation may be rejected or returned at the customer’s expense.

6. Warranty Claims
Most Dirty 4x4 products include a Dirty 4x4-issued warranty. Please refer to our Warranty Policy for full details.
To lodge a warranty claim:

  • Contact us with your order number

  • Provide a description of the issue

  • Include clear photos and installation details

Warranty coverage may be void if the product has been improperly installed, misused, or modified.

7. Non-Returnable Items
The following items are not eligible for return or refund:

  • Gift cards or store credit

  • Digital products or downloads

  • Custom-built products

  • Electrical components that have been used or installed
     

8. Australian Consumer Law
Dirty 4x4 goods come with guarantees that cannot be excluded under the Australian Consumer Law. You are entitled to a replacement, repair, or refund for major failures, and compensation for any other reasonably foreseeable loss or damage.
